After the crazy party at his best friend’s house, young student Marko (23) happily driving on his way home accidentally runs over a little Roma girl near the Roma settlement Shutka in Skopje. The little kid dies on the asphalt; Marko hides the body by the road and escapes from the scene. When ready to confess, no one from his closest is able to accept his guilt. His best friend Bojan tells him not to spread this furthermore and to try to forget. Girlfriend Jana is supportive and understands him but couldn’t satisfy Marko’s need since she says she would agree with any decision of his. Marko decides to look for atonement himself and starts to investigate his own murder. He looks around the Roma neighborhood and then goes to the police. The police could not help either because they couldn’t discover any proof of a killed or a missing body. When finally Marko says everything at home he is locked up in his room by his father. Marko’s father gets out of the house, speaking on the phone. Relentless Marko escapes from his room and continues his pursuit for justice and punishment among the Roma people, back in their settlement. After attacked and locked up in a shed, he’s been asked by the Roma “committee” to pay 3000 euros and a horse for his freedom. The oldest Roma man underlines that they already have eight mouths to feed but no horse. Eventually, the father of the murderer and the father of the killer with the mediation of the police solve the case. Exhausted from all, Marko wakes up in a hospital with all his closest around the bed. The doctor and the mother are talking about hallucinations provoked by some pills in party cocktails. Marko’s father and Bojan nod. After the hospital, Marko agrees to go on a holiday to Croatia with his girl and his friends. By the Adriatic Sea, Marko looks like a living ghost.
