A foreign private detective, Mr. Hawaii, gets by in the Netherlands with small jobs and finding lost animals. An old friend reaches out and hires him to find a missing girl who ran away from home. As he gets deeper with the investigation, revelations surrounding abuse, manipulation, the Dutch criminal underworld and even his own demons begin to emerge.
