Dr. Nina Sanders, a once-celebrated celebrity psychiatrist, is barely keeping her life together. Her mother has died, her father has dementia, and her job at New Beginnings Psychiatric Center is a soul-sucking parade of privileged clients whining about stylists and TikTok trauma. When a disastrous outburst with a patient gets her a forced vacation, she’s tempted by a mysterious job offer from a former colleague: Dr. Franklin Melweather, the founder of the Culture Cleanse Institute, a rehab center for “canceled” celebrities. Nina joins the institute, hoping to reclaim her purpose, but things get weird…fast. The center is part therapy retreat, part Orwellian nightmare. Meanwhile, Nina is paired with a particularly combative patient, Elizabeth, who might be more perceptive than she lets on. As Nina realizes she’s not there to help patients, but to control them, her loyalties shift. The institute is less about healing and more about spectacle and coercion, with hints of exploitation and even murder lurking beneath the surface.
