She had been living with her deceased boyfriend’s father in a cabin along Big Creek, east of Amite, Louisiana. After Macy’s bust, the old man, Odis, throws her son, Hank, out of the cabin. He tells him to go with live Macy’s sister, Lucy. Lucy bails Macy out of jail “for the last time”. Macy swears she has hit bottom and is going to turn her life around. She wants to be a better mother for her son. Rick, a menacing pusher, comes looking for her to collect a debt owed to him by Macy. Rick physically abuses Macy to collect the debt and wants her back pushing for him. Odis visits Macy at Lucy’s and confesses he is dying of pancreatic cancer. He tells her he is leaving her his cabin and his other possessions. He confesses his guilt about the way he has treated her and Hank. After signing the legal papers in the lawyer’s office, Odis takes her to the cabin for a surprise. Billy Boy, their old pet goat, who ran away after the death of Odis’s wife, has returned. Billy Boy loves whipped cream. Macy finds a job cleaning offices. The first night on the job, she witnesses the social worker who threatened to take Hank away from her having sex with Rick in the social worker’s office. During Macy’s stay in jail, she roomed with Alice, who shot the two drug-runners who murdered who two oldest boys. She plead self-defense. She shot the bastards, however, with an illegally obtained weapon, which is why she went to jail. After Alice’s early release, she goes back to her old job of cleaning offices. Ironically, she is partnered with Macy. The day Macy passes her drug test she goes to Odis to tell him. She finds Odis dead on his porch. Macy, Lucy and friends have a service for Odis, releasing his ashes into Big Creek. Odis had released his wife’s ashes in the creek and wanted to join her. Hank and his girlfriend, Fallon, discuss possible plans to get revenge on Rick. Against Hank’s better judgement, Fallon launches a plan to seduce Rick. She ties him up, puts whip cream on his genitals. Rick gets what he is not expecting. She brings Billy Boy into his bedroom. While Billy Boy is enjoying the whipped cream, Hank searches Rick’s home to find his stash of drugs. He does. Before they leave, they vacuum and wipe the place down and leave the front door opened. Fallon uses a burner phone to call 911 to report strange noises coming from Rick’s house. Their joy with what they think they have accomplished is short lived. Rick bribes his way out of jail and comes looking to equal the score.

The Writer: Charley Vance

I teach acting in a rural public school system. This is the 22nd year our high school acting program has created movies. Our movie project is grant funded. The students develop the stories via screen treatments sessions. I write the screenplays. We do three 30 minutes a year, except due to Covid we only did two movies this year. That adds up to 65 short screenplays that I have produced, directed and written. We have received five modest national awards. We are grant funded. We hire a viideographer to video, light, do sound and edit. We hire professional actors for the adult roles. We contract with Louisiana musicians to create original music for each movie.
