Outer Glass

In a quiet English field, dutiful PC Harris is tasked with a mundane job: clearing out a group of "new-age traveler" hippies. His day takes a surreal turn when a UFO descends, abducting him along with two of the hippies, the gung-ho Frank and the cynical Lucy. They wake up in a bizarre, square glass box floating through space. While the hippies are thrilled, PC Harris grows suspicious, especially after the room fills with water, nearly drowning them. He fears the aliens view them not as chosen ones, but as bugs in an ant farm, a theory Lucy begins to accept as the bizarre tests escalate. Their captors' intentions take a strange turn when they start granting wishes, leading to a temporary truce and a burgeoning bond between PC Harris and Lucy. The fun enrages Frank, a true believer who feels betrayed by the shift from spiritual enlightenment to frivolous games. In a dark fit of jealousy, he uses his wish to command the aliens to boil them inside the glass box until only one survives. Harris emerges as the sole survivor. The aliens reveal themselves and tell him he has been chosen to return to Earth and prepare humanity for their arrival. But with Lucy gone and his sense of duty shattered, PC Harris's only wish is to get her back, turning his cosmic journey into a grim quest for revenge.
