Chapter 1 Eric enters a bar and sits down, nervously drinking juice. The bartender, Gerald, engages him in philosophical conversation, noticing Eric’s fatigue. Suddenly, Gerald spots blood near Eric’s finger, but Eric avoids explaining its origin. Chapter 2 Gerald asks about Eric’s work and family. The conversation shifts to travel, but when Gerald inquires about the blood, Eric diverts the topic, mentioning he was recently accused of electronically stealing money. Chapter 3 Eric brings up design, prompting Gerald’s suspicion that Eric is hiding something. They discuss billiards, and Gerald suffers from a wool allergy triggered by a nearby client. Eric wipes the table with his finger while explaining how he’s been deceived and must prove his innocence. He uses his inhaler and eats a chocolate snack. They talk briefly about cinema, and Gerald shares a memory of swimming with his wife at the dolphinarium. A TV shows a fight between two men; Gerald notices one resembles Eric. Chapter 4 Gerald probes Eric about the fight. He removes his wedding ring, unsettling Eric. Eric admits he was accused of theft. Gerald reveals his engagement and his recent start as a bartender, as well as his hidden allergies. Eric notices a ring on Gerald’s ear, asking about his work. Gerald mentions adding gold to a design. Kevin, sitting nearby, reacts to a lamp turning on; Gerald recognizes him from TV. Chapter 5 Gerald investigates the connection between Kevin and Eric. Kevin explains his account was hacked, nearly causing him to break up with his wife. They uncover that Eric was framed for data theft and had to flee the company. Chapter 6 Kevin and Eric discover Gerald’s involvement in hacking bank cards and transferring funds to an online wallet. Chapter 7 Kevin recounts his alley fight with Eric, believing he caused the problem. Eric proves his innocence. Gerald realizes Eric worked for the same company and dislikes Gerald’s methods, leading to Gerald’s dismissal. Gerald admits to stealing the money. Kevin orders surrender, but the waiting police officer turns out to be fake. Eric and Kevin are outplayed.
