Synopsis/Details
A satirical drama with elements of comedy and horror. A portrait of a ordinary British family under extraordinary circumstances. Loosely based on the origin story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
Following a series of seemingly paranormal and inexplicable activity, a family's deepest concerns are brought to the surface, and the stakes are escalated to a level of absurdity. Meanwhile, their situation is juxtaposed by an unknown lodger, an illegal immigrant living in their loft.
The young girl lives among the family's discarded belongings in their dusty attic. She watches and listens to them from a distance. Initially, we see her as trapped and helpless, and root for her to escape, but curiosity gets the better of her, and she makes the mistake of getting to comfortable. As she gets closer and closer to the family, she begins to hope meet them and maybe even be accepted.
Her presence in the house begins to cause paranoia in each of the family members, further exposing their differences, and turning them against one another. Oblivious to the danger she is in, she grows in confidence and no longer feels confined to the loft. When tensions in the family reach boiling point, she is discovered, and chaos ensues.
At the end of the story, the son is running away from home, the father is on a tyrannical rampage, and the mother has become borderline psychotic.
