Synopsis/Details
Hope is an award-winning science teacher who has just left her husband because he didn’t support her dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. In order to get over the divorce, Hope turns to Internet Dating, but the men she meets from these sites are peculiar to say the least. Along the way, she meets an one-eyed man who texts and drives, a zip line instructor who is on the Paleo-diet but also obsessed with magic mushrooms, a sapiosexual who is into using women as furniture, and a Brigham-Young-University-going Mormon male competitive pole-dancer who has to wear an ankle monitor because his ex-wife accused him of wanting to kill her... Between bad dates, Hope and her sarcastic and cynical Asian lesbian roommate Mary spend their time watching superhero movies and discussing the science behind Marvel and DC characters. They talk about issues like how the Invisible Woman would be blind because light is shining straight through her instead of reflecting off of her, Thor would kill Jane if he flew straight up by swinging his hammer because of hypothermia and decompression sickness, and Ant Man would not be able to effectively punch a person because his arm is so thin his punches would be comparable to being poked by a tattoo needle... When Hope meets a charming young man by the name of Connan and lands a spot hosting a panel at Comic Con, she thinks her life is finally going well, but then things starts to unravel around her and she needs to figure out who she really is as a person. There is a big twist at the end, but giving it away now would reduce the fun of reading the script. I hope you like it!
