Synopsis/Details
Chris Turner, a former Orlando City cop who was dropped from the force for taking drugs from the evidence locker, moves to Miami in search of the maker of a little known drug, Amber, that gives users super human strength. Realizing that the only way to overcome users of the drug is to use it himself, he keeps a dosage in his modified wristwatch designed by a former drug user friend and Amber maker named Ruslan.
Having infiltrated a local drug gang who he suspects are using Amber, he attempts to find out who their supplier is but things go south as a fight ensues and Chris is forced to kill the gang leader, Billy. However, Billy gives up the information that a new cartel supplying various dealers with Amber has emerged. Diana, Chris' sister, asks Chris to help her find her missing employee, Isabel, and he agrees half heartedly as he pursues the origins of Amber in Miami.
Meanwhile Detectives Max and Valerie investigating a chain of robberies arrive at a warehouse. As they approach the two suspects, Vince and Royce, the men run off and a foot chase ensues. Valerie loses Royce while Max and Vince have a faceoff. Max shoots Vince multiple times as a defense measure but Vince seems unhurt, running off easily only to be found dead a long way away by a police unit. Vince's athletic escape despite being wounded by multiple bullets shocks Max and Valerie.
Chris continues to investigate Amber by heading to Billy's storehouse. His plans to intercept a drug shipment are foiled when a drug trafficker pulls a gun on him. Detectives Valerie and Max, who are still investigating the robbery and happen to be in the area, get involved and apprehend the trafficker and take Chris in for questioning. While being questioned by the Lieutenant Chris discovers that the Isabel case is connected to his Amber investigation via Vince, the guy Max shot.
With the assistance of the detectives Chris decides to pursue the missing person case hoping it may lead him to the creators of Amber. He is at the medic's lab to find out more about Vince when his old friend, Ruslan, resurfaces as the medic's pastor. Ruslan suggest that Vince may have been on Amber hence his ability to run off after getting shot, and may have died due the drug's fatal flaw of killing a user who overdoses and engages in intense activity. Chris keeps his knowledge of Ruslan hidden from the Detectives and Ruslan doesn't make this known as well. A fight between Chris and Ruslan ensues when Chris suspects Ruslan of being involved in the emergence of Amber in Miami but realizes that's not the case. Ruslan offers to help find who is making Amber. Detective Valerie starts to suspect Chris and Ruslan may know each other from the past and she gets a computer forensics officer to do a background check on them.
Chris eventually finds Isabel and she shows that she knows a lot about Amber and that she faked her own kidnapping. As she explains why, Royce appears. She doesn't want to be found however, so she shoots Chris and escapes, promising to reappear later. She does appear, much to the delight of Diana. But Valerie has new information that makes her suspect Chris may be involved in the killing of Billy and his drug gang.
