Synopsis/Details
250,000 years ago, MAN lived. This was a life of science, art, culture, and history. For the last 100,000 years, science and progressive politics have been vast. Space travel was an industry unlike any other. Man sought to expand. Expand the way we think, and the way we live. As well, the place we live. In the name of said expansion, for the first time ever, a model of immigration to another planet came to fruition. The idea was simple enough. Explore, expand, adventure, and create. These were the words used to describe the one way journey, that a select few would take. Now a destination must be picked. This destination must have a non-aggressive climate, breathable air, and liquid water. Finally a world was picked. We called it several different names in the beginning. The missions objective was not to move our civilization to this new world. Rather the point was to EXPAND our species further into space, thus securing our survival. 641 scientists, farmers, mathematicians, pilots, hunters, and children would make the journey to the new world. Two years were spent in preparation, and the voyage would take roughly three. We looked at a total of 5 years before man took his first steps on Earth. This was a scary, yet exciting feeling for everyone. Man stands in awe at their scientific achievements. WE are going to be aliens. After the years of preparation, the journey was ready to commence. We said goodbye and loaded up for the three year ride. Both the adults and children had a specific mission or purpose to fulfill. The ride was long, and the days were longer. We had a lot of work to do, a lot of training, if we were going to be ready to land on an alien planet and thrive. Classes were held on the shuttle for every essential skill imaginable by the adults. Everyone had something to share. We taught one another, we became a society of our own during our time spent traveling. When we got just outside of earths orbit, we loaded up into 24 pods. 20 pods for the people, and 4 for supplies such as food, water, and tools. The shuttle was sent back to Centauri remotely to make its second voyage to another new world, eventually. The pods came equip with all of the living necessities, like shelter and hygiene capabilities. Things were going great for a long, long time. Eventually however, as we began to multiply by number, we began to separate by families and clans. After some time had passed we got used to this feeling of social isolation. We didn’t see anyone outside of our immediate family for months at a time. Soon the new world would begin a cycle of disastrous weather An age of ice to the north, while volcanos and earthquakes devastated the south. Humanity was almost entirely wiped out. When the dust settled after all those years of devastation, every bit of our technology was destroyed. Everything we knew and owned, gone. We hung on by a thread and continue to do so. 52 generations had passed from the time of start to finish of the earths disastrous state. The time spent trying to survive negated every bit of training and studying that our people were meant to do. We officially knew nothing. We were cave men. After all, nobody alive at this point was there to witness us conquer this beautiful planet. We must start over. We learned to hunt and fish, we learned to make fire, we learned to survive. Decade after decade, millennia after millennia, time passes and man progresses. Man invents the wheel, man builds the pyramids, man creates the iPhone. In the modern era, year 2020, humanity sent a drone on an interstellar mission. “Voyager 1” made its way to Proxima Centauri B, an Earth like planet in its red star’s habitable zone. This was a 3 star system, the closest of which is a Red Dwarf, and expected to live for trillions of years. Voyager 1 is traveling from our solar system at a rate of 17 Kilometers per second, taking an estimated 73,000 years to reach the Centauri system, at 4.2 light years from earth. This mission would soon be obsolete however, with the advancements of science in the very near future. 250 years from today, the year is 2270, political strife is responsible for another new cycle of disastrous weather. We call it climate change. Earthlings are considered a Kardashev type 1 civilization, a VAST step up from our recent technological capabilities. This means the people of Earth are able to harness approximately all of the impact-able energy striking our planet. This includes the ability to harness antimatter, or anti-hydrogen sufficient enough to power a starship. With this kind of energy capabilities, man has long since developed interstellar space travel. The world is in a panic. The new cycles of weather are fast approaching. We must leave this rock if we are to survive. The destination was agreed upon in the early 20th century, and all possible research on Alpha Centauri was done. It would work, and we can make it. Now the journey must commence. At the people of Earths’ current technological standings, it will take an estimated 11 months to get to Centauri. A mission of exploration was quickly set into motion. We have studied this new world for years, and everything we know about this new rock seems reasonable. Cold, but reasonable. Survivable to say the least. So here we go, a collective 2200 men, women, and children would make the journey and hope for the best. After all, our civilization was relying on this move if we were going to survive. Finally, after 11 months we have arrived in the Centauri system. We are just days away from landing on what we hope will be our peoples new home. Upon arriving we were shocked, absolutely baffled at what we came across. Another civilization of HUMANS. This was massive, we were saved. We were enlightened at our new discovery. After days of questions on both sides of the table, the information was presented, we CAME FROM this civilization. Roughly 250,000 years ago, the peoples’ of Centauri sent a voyage of human beings to Earth as part of their “explore and expand” campaign. They were shocked to see how far we had come. Maybe as shocked as we were to learn of their existence. We learned all about each others civilizations and personal lives. After going over all of our current predicaments back on Earth, we learned the frustrating and impossible news, they would not help us. The people of Centauri refused to take in the humans of Earth at fault of philosophical differences, and a “stand alone” ideology. We were stuck. This was a type 2 Kardashev civilization. We could not fight them, and we could not force them. We negotiated to no avail. We begged and reasoned, and were only shown the door. Back upon the ship, the people of Earth were found with a loss of words. Sent away with our tail between our legs, and no good news in sight. Now what..?
