Synopsis/Details
Reggie & Reinhardt is an episodic half-hour dark comedy featuring the antics and misadventures of two mispaired best friends. With each episode comes a new dream to be fulfilled or a problem to be solved. Unfortunately for Reinhardt, Reggie’s “bright ideas” get in the way of any sensible solutions, and the simplest of problems lead to the worst possible results. Slapstick literally bleeds into science-fiction in this truly episodic series where the previous show’s gruesome endings have little effect on the next episode. Reggie & Reinhardt is like a Twilight Zone episode featuring Laurel and Hardy and directed by the Coen Brothers. While Pinky and the Brain try to take over the world, Reggie and Reinhardt try to escape it. But just like Skipper and Gilligan, these two buddies will never escape their Island. In the pilot episode, A Time for Crime, Reinhardt, unfulfilled and dissatisfied with his life as a mopper in a mop factory, shares his dream with his best friend, co-worker, and roommate: that he wants to be an actor. Reggie immediately declares himself Reinhardt’s agent, and promises him a role on Big Time City’s most popular crime reenactment show, “A Time for Crime.” After Reinhardt is rejected by the show for not looking like anyone who has actually committed a crime, Reggie suggests that they instead find someone that looks like Reinhardt to commit a crime.
