Reprogramming The President

In 2018, after a failed Nevada gubernatorial run, Frank Rupentine, diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder, undergoes a controversial medical procedure at the highly-secretive Nevada Institute For Artificial Intelligence (NIFAI) to fix his condition. The treatment, involving an implanted AI probe, enhances his behavior and positions him to run for president. NIFAI, founded by future thinker and physicist Nicola di Fermi with major funding from Jeremiah Jackson, Herman Kraut, and the U.S. government, uses AI technology to monitor Frank and shape his political agenda. Frank's goals are to reunite America, purge foreign influence from U.S. businesses, and tackle climate change. With support from NIFAI, he wins the presidency in 2024. During his second term, Frank brokers peace with Russia, and America experiences economic prosperity and environmental progress. However, tensions with China and North Korea escalate. Frank uses a powerful new Melt Down Agent weapon (M.D.A.,) to decisively end a conflict with China over Taiwan in just seven days. After his second term, Frank retires, reflecting on his legacy, as his AI probe continues to guide global diplomacy. The White House adopts a new supercomputer that takes over decision-making. Frank, now focusing on personal pursuits, faces a final medical crisis and contemplates the direction his life could have taken.
