A funeral directors wife is having an affair when she is murdered, he decides to keep his wife with him. But he's not the only one determined not to let her rest in peace.

R.I.P. Kay and Kim were separated at birth and grew up in two different worlds. One in Australia and one in the U.K. Kim married a funeral director called John Strickland. Kim begins an affair with Dave Clinch a taxi driver, when she wants to end it, he murders her. John embalms his wife, but unknown to us a weighted coffin is buried. Dave digs up the grave, he discovers the coffin contains bricks. When the disturbed grave is discovered the police call at John's home. They search his house, but to our and John's surprise his wife is not there. She was there when John left for his seminar. John realizes that Dave Clinch has taken her. He retrieves his wife while Dave's at work using a locksmith. Kay, Kim's twin sister turns up at John's house. John offers her the spare room and takes her to visit her sisters empty grave! Kay and John hatch a plan. She will befriend Dave to gain access to his house to find Kim's clothing, or something as evidence. First they visit a diner that John and Kim used to visit. Dave also used to take Kim there. While they are there Dave walks in, when he sees them he looks shocked out of his senses. The waitress looks even more puzzled. Next time Kay goes alone to the diner, Dave joins her. At their next meeting Kay reveals her identity and learns from Dave her sister was never buried. He shifts the blame onto John saying "I think John keeps her in the house" John always locks his bedroom door. Next day while John's at work Kay finds a key, and discovers her embalmed dead sister. Kay decides to go ahead with the plan and moves in with Dave. She discovers Kim's clothing and handbag hidden in the loft. She is about to leave the house when Dave comes home. After a furious fight. John saves Kay in the nick of time by driving a hearse at break neck speed. John and Kay take Kim's belongings to the police. Then John and Kay return the hearse to the funeral home just in time for a funeral. The police visit Dave's house, but he has left. They use the same locksmith, he remembers the house and tells them about John Strickland. Then they visit John and discover the perfectly preserved Kim Strickland sitting up in John's bed. Kim is given another funeral. That night John and Kay decide to check on Kim's grave. Dave is discovered digging it up again. There is a fight, John kills Dave. They bury him in Kim's grave, then walk off into the sunrise.
