Synopsis/Details
A light-hearted true story inspired by a woman I know. In 1990, Lynn Orchard’s a mother of three and hairdresser in a picturesque Somerset village. Busy with village life and giving ‘Diana cuts’ to old women, Lynn doesn’t always have time for her family.
News of neglected orphanages in post-Communist Romania prompts Lynn to get villagers to donate toys and clothes, which rapidly fill Lynn’s house and cause friction in her family.
So, despite having never been to London by herself, straight-laced Lynn must take the donations from her tiny Somerset village into deepest Romania, with help from a foul-mouthed lorry driver and hippy Christians.
In an uplifting story for post-Brexit times, Lynn’s journey will bring people together across Europe, in her village and in her own home. It’s through the Romanian orphans that Lynn will re-discover what her own family needs; love and affection… and having a nice relaxing haircut!
