Synopsis/Details
Elijah, an anxious and somewhat repressed teenager decides to throw caution to the wind after his girlfriend (Penny) breaks up with him for not have the courage to live life on his own terms. Along the way he meets a cast of fuckups and slackers and learns all the wrong lessons in the hedonistic world that surrounds him. During the first week back of his senior year at high school, Elijah gets dragged along to a party hosted by a girl his best friend (Liam) has a crush on, even though he already has a girlfriend. Before they can go to the party, they must first procure marijuana from their Johnny. Liam also buys a gram of coke but decides to hide it from Eli for fear of his reaction. Next, they visit Sam. He graduated a few years ago and is currently training as an apprentice electrician. He agrees to buy them alcohol in exchange for the delivery of the marijuana. Having successfully obtained supplies for the party later that night, they return to Liam’s house to hangout and smoke weed. Eli confides in Liam and tells him why Penny broke up with him They catch the train to the party and meetup with some of Liam’s friends in the park beforehand. Liam takes to opportunity to sell some coke to his burnout friend, Adam. Jess catches them sneaking into the party which ruins Liam’s chances with her. Shortly after, he has an argument with his girlfriend (Clare) who is also at the party and tells him to fuck off. Elijah sees Penny making out with some guy from the football team. Liam offers him coke to cheer him up. He bumps into Penny and confronts her; she calls him out for being afraid of confrontation. When Liam learns Clare is making out with some douchebag to get back at him, he naturally wants to attack him. Eli, keen to prove to himself and to Penny that he’s not weaks takes the opportunity to teach this guy a lesson. It all goes horribly wrong and ends with Eli getting beat up before his friends run in at defend him. He and Liam take the train back to Liam’s house and reflect on the night that was. As Eli falls asleep, we flashback to a fond memory of him and Penny frolicking in bed before pulling away from an Eli sleeping on a couch in Liam’s house.
