
Synopsis/Details
In a producer’s office, Prachi, a young, struggling screenwriter, fights for her script’s funding. Her story—a harrowing account of young girls' trafficking—is met with cold indifference from a producer consumed by profit. As she pitches, the room itself seems to close in, reflecting the suffocating weight of rejection and unspoken industry truths.
Outside, an idol of the goddess Durga looms. The producer, seated beneath shelves of discarded scripts and trophies, sees only numbers, not narratives. Prachi's phone buzzes—an overdue EMI. The walls of capitalism press tighter. Prachi, out of options, finally resorts to unspoken compromises, compromises on her morals...an unspoken plea.
In the end, she leaves, defeated but unchanged, as the producer, a man unmoved by morality, turns to an unexpected act— prayer.
A study of vice and virtue, the story is a quiet yet searing reflection on the transactional nature of art, power, and redemption in a world where everything comes with a price.
** Writer's notes-
1. There is no dialogue in the scenario, and the director is required to add it while filming.
2. The scenario is written with the seven deadly sins in mind, added with other sins and loads of absurd irony. However, it is suggested not to add the deadly sins' references while adding dialogue.
3. This scenario was written with Kubrick, Haneke, Lanthimos, etc. in mind. The director is encouraged to experiment with mise-en-scene, etc. too as he feels appropriate but is requested to keep this cold and cynical flavour in mind.
