Synopsis/Details
In this short story, we follow our main character Shelby, who is experiencing the end of the world in a state of dystopian-like, oblivious euphoria. Revelations has come. She is apparent to be the last person on Earth, sitting like a habitually nervous duck in her house set in a suburban neighborhood. Dark forces have come about, and Shelby is scared, so scared that she won't believe it.
Exploring her last journey, and our species last journey, we will struggle with what it means to let fear control you and what devices we have used to tear ourselves apart. Our body may never agree with our will, and Shelby still can't find out why her life still seems so normal when her heart may know the key.
The world has become a place of disinterest in others, disinterest in a higher purpose, and feverish interest for inauthentic gain. We only see Shelby and her tele-health spiritual psychologist, Dr. Holly, as we find the game that plays out to determine if mankind deserves one last chance, or if human salvation may be too much to ask for.
And to top it all off, the forces of evil have already stuck its claws in the chance of sanctification, with a patrol of A, or Azazel's, mischievous devils surrounding the night in the suburban paradise.
What do we need to consider as a society when we are faced with what we fear; with what we avoid? And what does it take to redeem yourself?
