Synopsis/Details
Producers, Managers, and Agents: "Saving Mark Twain", is a multiple award-winning (PAGE Awards Bronze Prize; etc.) spec script inspired by a true story. I recently wrote four scripts based IP on assignment for Afterglow Pictures and Two Jacks Productions in L.A, etc. If you are a film producer, manager or agent, please contact me to request the link to the synopsis, character breakdown, screenplay, etc. "Saving Mark Twain" is inspired by a true story, would be a mid-budget film, and is a blend of comedy and drama. The story has a feminist theme and strong roles for women as well as men: it's the women in Mark Twain's life- his wife, Olivia, and three daughters-- who determine the outcome. Audiences today will relate to "Saving Mark Twain" because it's a warm, funny, and poignant family story about a cranky but devoted husband and "girl dad" who is having a job crisis, can't pay the bills, is desperately trying to stop his teenage daughter from skipping college and eloping with her infuriating boyfriend-- and who also just happens to be the world's most famous and beloved American author and cynic: Mark Twain. Twain remains a global superstar, has over 2 million followers on social media, and is still in the news literally every day: he's quoted all over the world, and remains one of the most instantly recognizable Americans. His books are in print in 65 languages. In a time when the world seems to be spinning out of control, audiences are turning to fun, reassuring, films that take us on a journey to another time and place, and remind us that we can build bridges to conquer our differences, and that love endures.
Attached Talent

Attachments will be key. I know who I want to get the script to. I have a good track record of getting A-list attachments for my previous script.

EXCERPTS FROM THE READER'S REPORT ON “SAVING MARK TWAIN” FROM THE AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL SCRIPT COMPETITION:
"Yes, the plot is very strong. I really loved this script. It’s a beautiful, fantastical jaunt...The pacing is fantastic. [...] you do such a good job across the board[...]These people were such a delight. Sam [Mark Twain] feels so real. His frustrations, his anger, his humor, his love. All of it great. His family aren’t just window dressing...As you can tell, I loved this script. It’s the last script I’m reading for the festival this year, and it’s comfortably my favorite. There’s a richness of character and human behavior here that’s hard to come by. It’s got a keen sense of history, yet you don’t use it as a crutch. These people behave like real people. I think this script could be made as is [...] and it would be a great film for everyone to enjoy...It’s got a very broad appeal..[...] I’m very glad I got assigned this because this script is warm, considered, funny, bittersweet... Loved it loved it loved it."
