Severance

We start the episode with traumatic insight into Elara's sleep disorder. We watch from her perspective and from our own whilst she struggles with nightmares and terrifying sensations. By the time the episode nears its end, we begin to realise that what we are observing is her soul separating from her body as she sleeps, travelling elsewhere, her dreams just a 'screen' to mask what happens behind it. In the final seconds of the episode, we realise that Elara has been travelling to this soul state for a long time, and seemingly has a deeply important relationship with someone there.
