Skybound

The beginning of a new sci-fi Adventure! Note: This is the Pilot episode of my series, Skybound. The Story: The beginning of this story originates from the beginning of time, where the Universe was filled with nothing but darkness until a ball of light suddenly existed. From this, darkness created its manifestation and the very first sign of life, the Mare – a parasitical entity threatened by this new force. The light would implode and shine violently, enough to rid the Mare from existence and create the Universe’s first celestial figure, Atlas. As the god of an unmade world, Atlas would create the stars, planets, systems and life itself before residing above to watch their creation. Millions of years later, the Mare would mysteriously return to seek destruction in the most dangerous kind. With no god or answers for safety, millions of lives would be lost and damaged from this anomaly – the Universe had been plagued with death’s progeny once more. Over 100 years would pass before our plot takes place; in a post-apocalyptic world, survival isn’t easy. Starting on the scrap planet of Jairo-V, a talented cyborg Juno meets the charming yet bold Cassian. As the two introduce themselves in a dangerous position, they make a pact to travel together in exchange for safety. Throughout the stars, they meet several more figures that join them with the same intentions; the ex-Princess, Zuri; the mysterious celestial, Aziel; the cursed scholar, Jaeca; the child of a phenomena, Umiko; and the mystical shapeshifter, Vinn. Throughout their brief time together, they can’t help but notice that the chances of their introductions seem suspicious, foretold even; and its only until a visit from the planet Greae do they learn their true fate. ‘None of you realize the future you'll have together…Take this as fiction if you will, but sooner or later, you'll be in the pages of history.’ Words from a mysterious fortune-teller, Eldrin, tell them their destined meeting and their destined future; one that sees them on a journey of discovery, and witnessing the end of the Mare. For good. Tasked with a seemingly impossible fate, the 7 choose to follow this path and harbour themselves on the teller’s words. Throughout their journey, they learn more about the threat and each other, finding pieces of themselves in their new companions. Threats are discovered, allies are made, secret pasts are revealed, and bonds are formed. In a destined adventure, they will save more than the Universe; they will save each other.
