Synopsis/Details
The World So Far: Centuries ago, humans were abducted by an alien race known as the Regos for unknown reasons. As the Regos' world died, changing from a lush, Earth like planet to a desolate desert, the Regos left. Now, human colonies have sprung up, built from the festering ruins of Rego cities. Life in these colonies is harsh, death often comes in the form of starvation, disease, and murder. The world's economy is based around the sale and recovery of scrap, ferried between colonies by Sledgers on makeshift hovercrafts called sledges. Our story focuses on one such sledge, the Xerocole, based in The Pit. Owned by Rick Tanner, we watch as the Xerocole carries its crew in search of a better life. Fueled by rumors of a water source and an almost forgotten dream of building his own outpost, Tanner will lead the Xerocole and her crew against an oppressive dictator, pirates, the desert, and his own battles with gambling. Main Characters: Rick Tanner, 45: Financially strapped captain of the Xerocole. Tanner is a tough, but caring leader with never realized dreams Chloe Mercado, 25: The inquisitive tech expert of the Xerocole. Rescued by Tanner from pirates, she's fiercely loyal. Berko Hurst:, 30: The Xerocole's gunner and amateur historian. He'd be happier teaching and often helps Chloe in her work Harvey: An ancient, self aware robot. He'd have the answers about the past if only he wasn't damaged. Wen Kao, 40: A childhood friend/rival of Tanner. Their tumultuous relationship continues into adulthood. Liam O'Connell, 40: An alcoholic drifter and pirate. He could find a new life on the Xerocole if he manages to put the bottle down Niteesh Bajwa, 60: Dictator of the Pit, from a line of dictators. He is vain, greedy, and takes pleasure in cruelty.

The Writer: Andrew Benjamin

I've been writing on and off all my life; in recent years I have found a love for screenwriting. I enjoy exploring the human condition as the characters' circumstances change and evolve. I find science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal to be the most interesting backdrops and write stories ranging from serious drama to absurd comedy. I often find inspiration in my experiences in the military as well as my civilian career in telecommunications. . Go to bio
