As Jim is preparing to get out of the Air Force after 4 years of service in 1985 the unthinkable happens. Jim is accused of selling drugs and now faces years in jail. As he sits across the desk from his commander he makes the decision that he’s not going to jail. All the while his commander is only playing a joke on him but Jim is unaware of his joke. Jim runs off to his grandfathers cabin in Canada with a dim witted friend who had no other place to go. Jim had big plans of moving to San Diego and working in his brothers bar before all this happened. Being a beach bum and drinking all day was his only goal. Now Jim is stuck in a small Canadian town on a lake with a grandfather who drinks too much like Jim does and his friend who has found home. Jim spent many summers here on the lake and is haunted by his brothers death and the woman he loved that he blames for his death. As time passes he comes to grips with both and accepts his fate and maybe his future until he finds out it was all a joke. He now faces a decision of what to do.
