Standoff

In the year 2073, a prominent retired scientist has barricaded himself and two grandchildren in the dark basement of his suburban home. He’s distraught and threatening a murder-suicide over the results of his experiments more than 60 years earlier that have allowed science to edit human embryos, erasing human characteristics from deadly diseases to skin color. On the phone is a Negotiator trying to persuade him that he has actually created a perfect world, devoid of deadly diseases and societal ills like intolerance and envy. But who comes out on top in the end depends on whose vision of the world is actually correct.
