Synopsis/Details
Bryan, a man on the run from his past, on the night he intends to commit suicide, becomes embroiled in the drama of Eriko and Kenji.
Eriko is a beautiful young woman, afraid of her own shadow, long beaten down by her abusive husband.
Kenji is a survivor of the internment of Japanese in World War 2. Through his experiences in that dark time he slowly builds Bryan into a man who can face who he is and what he has done. And from this he can be the one to help Eriko discover herself, and break the bonds of abuse that hold her.
In flashback we learn Kenji's story -- from being a young teenager in Los Angeles on the day Pearl Harbor was bombed, through discrimination, internment and imprisonment. We see the tragedy of his family as it falls apart. And when Kenji signs up for the army to get away from internment, he becomes part of an epic discovery -- based on a true story.
As Bryan learns more from Kenji, his relationship with Eriko grows, until he can at last face the demons of his past, in order to stand up for the woman he loves.
