Synopsis/Details
The series opens in the gritty streets of Brooklyn, where we meet Jovan and Malik, two 17-year-olds navigating life in the Ghetto. Jovan, impulsive and street-smart, and Malik, more cautious but equally desperate to escape poverty, are inseparable friends. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they cross paths with Tyrone, a charismatic yet ruthless drug lord.
Tyrone, spotting potential in the boys, offers them a deal: work for him and earn enough money to change their lives. Tempted by the promise of quick wealth, Jovan is eager to accept, while Malik is hesitant but swayed by the allure of escaping their current situation. They agree to start small, unaware of the dangerous path they're embarking on.
Meanwhile, Lena Washington, a community organizer, notices the boys' involvement with Tyrone and tries to steer them towards a better path. She introduces them to Mrs. Evelyn Carter, a retired teacher who becomes a surrogate grandmother to them, offering wisdom and a safe haven.
