Synopsis/Details
Miranda wants to run her own marketing company one day, which is why she works feverishly at the Right Track Agency in Chicago to the point that she doesn’t have a social life and hasn’t put up any Christmas decorations in spite of it being her favorite holiday. When an important client is considering a different agency, it’s up to Miranda to drive to his home in Michigan a few days before Christmas to secure his business. Along the journey, Miranda experiences car trouble and must pull off. She ends up in the small town of Holly Harbor, only an hour away from where she grew up. Unfortunately, her car isn’t going to be ready by the end of the day and she must spend the night. The only place to stay in town is a bed-and-breakfast: The Christmas Inn. It’s a charming B&B decked out as if Christmas was year-round. The owner, Derek, is a widowed father struggling to keep the inn afloat. Overnight, a major snowstorm descends on the town, which means Miranda is stuck in Holly Harbor another day. Even as the snow tapers off in Holly Harbor, she learns her car is taking longer than expected and it’s still snowing near where she needs to be. Her only option is to stay in town and try to enjoy the annual Holly Harbor Christmas Fair knowing that her job is on the line if she doesn’t see her client. What Miranda experiences is pure magic as her and Derek spend time at the fair. While Miranda is stuck in this small town, she realizes how much she misses the joys of Christmas and the small things life, i.e. spending time with family and falling in love. When it’s time to move on, Miranda struggles to figure out her priorities in life. Her time in Holly Harbor not only changes her, but her experiences and new-found outlook on the importance of Christmas impresses the client she finally meets. Are these experiences enough for her to change her life and find ways to enjoy Christmas again?
