Synopsis/Details
Father Jack Yali, once known as “Father Fire” for his passionate preaching and healing ministry in Nigeria, spirals into alcoholism under the weight of loneliness and unresolved wounds. After a public breakdown, he’s sent to a discreet rehab in London a place survivors call The Circle of Collars.
Here, priests from every continent gather in secret: an exorcist who now needs exorcism, a war-scarred Ugandan priest, a Mexican caught between faith and cartel violence, a French priest wrestling with identity, and more. In this sacred but raw space, they confess, rage, and weep. They fall again. And they rise together.
Through tense dialogue, silent chapel breakdowns, and moments of forgiveness, they learn that wearing a collar is not about perfection but survival.
Inspired by the true story of Father Jack Yali, The Collar and the Cup blends African and global perspectives in a redemptive drama about failure, faith, and the courage to begin again.
