Synopsis/Details
The end of the world is in two days and we witness the lives of residents of a small U.S. town as they come to terms with their imminent death. The documentary will be stored in an archive to preserve the earth’s history. MAGGIE, a history teacher, feels compelled to be a part of this and her last deed in life is to showcase the town she loves and its residents in a positive light. CLIFF, the stout husband of Maggie’s -- has slightly lesser noble intentions -- he wishes to solve his greatest mystery -- what should his last meal be? CRAIG, a hapless dreamer, revisits the joys of his youth while LENNY, an introverted man has an indifference to the whole affair. The most popular places in town appear to be the church and the bar -- where Maggie finally connects with her mother in law. She also finds there is a strong impulse among her fellow citizens towards getting married. The rush for companionship has hit Lenny as well as he hopes to ask out his long-time crush. He is optimistic as he feels she wouldn’t reject a dying man but to his dismay he finds that she is in denial of the apocalypse. Craig seeks to rekindle his relationship with the love of his life who dumped him. They reconcile but Craig realizes that she seems happier than she ever was with him and hence does not make a move, content with the reconciliation and her happiness being his last memory of her. Maggie introduces us to a girl, fighting cancer for most of her short life, guiding her mother who is afraid and is not prepared for death. Farewells are a part of death -- Cliff is strongly encouraged by Maggie to call everyone in his phonebook while Lenny arranges a funeral for his father -- who is still alive. Maggie feels every person deserves to find peace and comfort before they die. She visits the county prison to give prisoners an opportunity to make one last request. The last town meeting is held where long-standing conflicts are resolved, mysteries are solved and sexual arrangements are made. Craig pays one last visit to his dream car and is tempted to steal it. Lenny goes to the ballpark where he finds a group recreating their favorite baseball plays from all time and they invite Lenny to pick one for himself. The last day sees the four protagonists and other residents, answer questions surrounding death like is there an afterlife? We get different perspectives for each of the questions and at the end we see that Cliff has finally found an answer to his mystery.

The Writer: DARSHIT A.V.

A life long fan of movies who's decided to follow his dreams of making it big in Hollywood -- what a cliche, I know. But I have got the goods and hope others will feel the same way. This is my second screenplay. My first one has many admirers but hasn't made its way to production -- yet. Go to bio
