Synopsis/Details
Tom Coen a young ambitious Hollywood executive in 1936 has it all on paper,
However his personal demons are beginning to show while he attempts to keep his studio from bankruptcy.
The first episode we are thrown straight into the action as Tom attempts to find the next Hollywood 'It' girl to begin production on his studios last chance at a hit.
He is also tasked with telling the current 'It' girl she will no longer be needed.
Tom's secret affair with a Hollywood leading man is also on his mind as it begins to unravel and a chance occurrence with famed writer John Steinbeck sets a series of events into motion.
The episode also follows a young African American actor named Alfred on his birthday as he deals with ongoing racism in the studio system.
