Abril, an Hispanic woman is a single mom, living in a one-bedroom apartment in the Bronx with her grandmother, Saint Marie and her son, Pedro. She is estranged from her ex-boyfriend. Abril moved to New York from Chicago to escape the dire straits she was in. Abril has bounced from job to job, gig to gig. She's looking for that one spark, that one brilliant idea that'll turn into a successful business to launch her into the stratosphere and solve all of her immediate woes bogging her down. Abril joins Facebook groups for entrepreneurs, and in particular, female entrepreneurs. She finds a whole new friend group out of this that supports her and one where she can pitch her ideas and have accountability partners. Abril continues to work multiple jobs while trying to start her latest venture. Her focus. her attention and her heart gets split even further when she comes across an group of street artists, a collective in the vein of the Jabbawockeez who develop, design and perform skits, performance art, dances, etc. to audiences throughout NYC in specific locations. She and the leader of the collective (named the Allsiders), Tyrique develop a particular bond. As Abril becomes part of the group, becomes acculturated to its dynamics and becomes an active part of their performances, she begins to question her purpose in life, her connection to art and what she should prioritize: money or one's passion.
