Synopsis/Details
The Kitsune is a paranormal horror, combining Japanese demonic folklore with new age and shamanic plant medicine philosophies.
The story follows Alice in the midst of an existential low point, unable to come to terms with, or shed guilt for, the death of her mother. Now sinking further into reckless drug and alcohol use, Alice agrees to go on a women’s Bali retreat, led by family friend, Amala.
There, while trying to overcome her personal baggage, Alice strikes up a curious relationship with Fumiko, whose strange behaviour becomes increasingly sinister. It soon becomes apparent to Amala and Alice that a dark entity is afoot – the Kitsune.
When Fumiko is transported back to her home in Osaka for psychiatric evaluation, Alice and Amala tag along to confront this Kitsune head on. In the process, Alice must confront her past and achieve nothing short of a spiritual transformation.
