Synopsis/Details
"The Life of a Connor" This is a story largely told by Connor himself. A 20-year-old guy, he was never the smartest, strongest or even the funniest, no matter how much he wanted it to be. But unexpectedly for himself - having ended up in Vietnam, he realized one thing, he was not just born to be a soldier - he was born to be the best of the best.
He will take the viewer through his ordinary everyday life deep in the jungles of Vietnam. Idleness in the camp, malaria, shootouts and mines - that's what his everyday life consists of. He has few friends - but he loves them all very much. Lee, Mendoza and Tompkins are Jim's three favorite sons of bitches. Every day is fraught with danger, for every danger Jim has a special kind of grin.
The days go by - and now Jim and his friends find themselves in the city, on so-called vacation. At this time, Jim will take the viewer through the various vices of the American army. For the guys it's a breath of fresh air, for Jim it's time to replenish his stock of "fun".
But nothing lasts forever, except for the human desire to kill each other, and the guys return to camp. They celebrate Christmas, and selflessly while away the days in this grave of hopes.
But nothing lasts forever - Jim becomes a witness to a terrible tragedy - Private Lee was supposed to fly home, but his helicopter was shot down, Jim loses his composure. He watches as the helicopter falls and crashes in the depths of the jungle - as something inside Jim himself crashes. He has seen death before - but the death of a friend?
After that, the days become harder, Jim became darker than a thundercloud. He could survive anything, an ambush, a shelling or a mine, anything, but not lose a friend.
Over time, it only gets worse - Mendoza disappears in the jungle on a routine mission. Tompkins gets hooked on heroin. Despite being able to be anything in this dangerous jungle - Jim realizes that he can only be a soldier - but not a guardian angel for his friends whom he could not save from the horror that is everywhere.
