Synopsis/Details
After the suicide of her only friend, art student Avid retreats into a mental battle across campus. But when she uncovers a method to avenge what she lost —she begins crafting a piece of her that blurs art, memory, and obsession. As her mind darkens, the mannequins around her seem to shift subtly in expression and posture. Footsteps echo when no one’s present. Lights flicker at its proximity. And classmates begin to distance themselves, unnerved by Avid's fixation. Is it grief carving reality into illusion—or has something followed her from the edge of memory? When figures from her past appear in lifeless forms around campus and one student vanishes, Avid must confront whether the mannequin is merely a vessel… or a mirror harboring something malevolent.

The Writer: thomas scott

Hey all, I'm a cinematic storyteller with a sharp eye for suspense-driven narratives and visceral atmosphere. I wrote The Mannequin to explore the collision of identity, silence, and the uncanny—a tension that sits uncomfortably between what we recognize as human and what we pretend not to fear. Rooted in my passion for character-driven thrillers and slasher arcs, the piece blends meticulous sensory detail and psychological unease to immerse audiences in a space that feels dangerously familiar.
