Synopsis/Details
Planet Shelder. Humans have recently started to colonize this wild land and are making full use of their advanced technology to integrate with and domesticate the local fauna. However, the technology used to uplift the fauna's intelligence has long since gone haywire and now the humans have to trace all the rogue 'chipped' with the help of drones and they realize just how deep the rabbit hole goes. In one of these surveillance mission, a drone follows a familiar pack of scavengers as they discover the carcass of a known herbivore that had recently been killed and abandoned. They soon realize the animal was a mother carrying a baby and the baby manages to survive and fends the scavengers off with only hours from birth. The scavengers initially are somewhat confident to take on the baby, but they quickly learn just how tough he is and their leader gets crippled. While the baby grieves his mother, hoping for the herd to find him, the scavengers come back for more. He will try to convince them to back down and take his mother as prize, in order to survive and rejoin the herd. All the while the flying drone collects exciting footage to bring back for the humans to enjoy and catalogue.
