“Goodfellas” meets “Casablanca.” Alex, a young small-time crook in 1990’s Leningrad, borrows a large sum from his former childhood friend, a Mafiosi-on-the-rise, to pay for his mom’s medical operation, then jumps on the opportunity to take a trip to the U.S. with the Moonies, a religious sect.
