Synopsis/Details
This synopsis relates the tale over eight episodes, not simply the first episode/TV pilot. During an anniversary celebrating their freedom, over the series of a few evenings, a middle-aged storyteller Terra Dai shares a tale of the her parents, Bena Ruah and Gwydion Dai, striving to protect Gaia and their Earth-loving people from the ravages of a multi-planetary corporate society. With their scientific friends and their shamanistic abilities to shape-shift, the people fight back. When they realize that working out a compromise is impossible, Bena Ruah emerges as on of the self-sacrificing leaders of the uprising to destroy the ruthless Exiles. While sharing this tale over the period of time, little does Terra Dai realize that her own life is in danger do to a secret contained in her Mother's diary that was found in a dig. With the help of old friends and her Father, she discovers that one in her circle is not a true friend and hell-bent on gaining access to a formidable, destructive power. For fans of science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary environmental issues, "The Shaman's Tale" is an ecological utopic story told in eight episodes. It follows a man and a woman, and their relationship with the Earth with a perseverance and passion that will enthrall and at times terrify. It is told in such a way to invite the audience into a deeper understanding of the Indigenous ideal of living in harmony with nature as opposed to conquering it. Note: Attached to this package is a Pitch Deck. Written with locations in British Columbia, Canada in mind.
