Synopsis/Details
When Robbie Parker arms himself and walks into a rough neighborhood to preach the gospel, he is soon attacked, but he easily repels the attack with the skill of highly trained fighter.
The next day, we meet the street-wise pastor of his church and get a small sample of the pastor's advanced Bible teaching and insightful preaching.
Robbie visits his ex-wife's house unannounced, only to be reminded that she and their 12-year-old daughter Kammy hate his guts.
While worrying about his unbelieving daughter's soul and venting his frustration about the destructive parenting of his ex-wife, Robbie occasionally lashes out in violent (yet hilarious) ways between street-preaching trips, while his stern but compassionate pastor tries to rein him in.
When Robbie preaches outside a local night club which is engaged in organized kidnapping, the creepy owner named Rex uses a thinly-veiled threat to push Robbie to leave early, and Robbie shows uncharacteristic restraint in yielding.
After rescuing a socially awkward teenage stoner from a brutal beating, Robbie takes him under his wing, and tries to be the father figure to him that he wants to be to Kammy.
Meanwhile, social rejection leaves Kammy suicidal and vulnerable when a young woman working for Rex's human trafficking gang lures Kammy to the club to be abducted. Their kidnapping attempt is prevented when Robbie sees Kammy, forces his way into the club and makes a scene, leading to a brawl with the bouncers. When Robbie later realizes that the club may be involved in human trafficking, he hides a tracking device in Kammy's favorite jacket.
Rex sends a hitman to kill Robbie and successfully has Kammy abducted. When Robbie figures out who sent the hitman, he rushes to find Kammy. The tracking device leads Robbie to two different secret bases of the gang's operations where Robbie doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who slows him down. As the body count rises, Kammy attempts to escape but can't quite make it out. Robbie is left unarmed shortly before a weirdly epic battle with Rex. When Robbie finally finds Kammy, she has a surprise for him that will change both of their lives.
** To illustrate tone and marketability, I made an amateur concept trailer using friends to act out parts of the script. I filled in some gaps with roughly equivalent footage from other movies. Contact me privately for a link to the video.
