Synopsis/Details
A cruise ship catches fire and sinks in the middle of the ocean. One passenger, our main (Josh), is picked up by seven others as he drifts on a piece of debris. The eight sea-faring survivors are packed into an uncovered life boat meant for captain and crew because the rest of the life boats melted from the fire. Our heroes figure that there must be somebody coming to rescue them and decide to wait it out. When no help arrives they have to make a decision.
One passenger falls overboard in the middle of the night. A few of the guys on board, including a former Marine (Chris), grab some oars and convince everyone else to take a chance out on the open water since they now have a lighter boat. Nancy, a senior vice president at an investment firm, tries to convince the others to stay but the guys win out.
As luck would have it, our survivors stumble across an island in the middle of the Caribbean. It's a miracle! As our characters settle into life on the island, questions swirl about the nature of the ship wreck. Bo, a waiter on board the "Sapphire Princess", details to Josh and Chris the strange circumstances that he experienced on the day the ship sank.
Josh and Bo eventually get into a fight over religion and Bo is found dead. In a "Lord of the Flies" style trial, Josh is found guilty and sentenced to death. Josh spends the night tied to a palm tree as he awaits his sentence to be carried out in the morning. One passenger approaches Josh in the night and admits that they were the ones who killed Bo and set the cruise ship on fire. We flashback to the day the ship sank and lay it all out.
