Synopsis/Details
The Goodmans are your average American family. They eek out a living in blue collar Dodge City, Kansas. Dad, Victor, owns a small sandwich shop, mom, Jessica, is a homemaker and their son, Benjamin, is a good student at the local high school. Yes, the Goodmans are the picture of a normal American family. Except that the “Goodmans” didn't exist two months ago. The Goodmans used to be the O'Sheas. Instead of Dodge City, they lived in Boston. Victor, Jessica and Benjamin were Flynn, Olivia and Cormac. Instead of running a sandwich shop, Dad was running a crew for the Irish mob. The picture of normalcy that the “Goodmans” now portray is nothing more than a creation of the US Marshals and the Witness Relocation program. This new life the O'Sheas now inhabit comes with a hitch: they HAVE to stay out of trouble. Any minor transgression the O'Sheas find themselves in could cause irreparable damage to any federal court case Flynn had testified in. If any of them get into hot water, they'll lose everything: their new home, their government stipend and their federal protection. For career criminals and con men, suddenly walking the straight and narrow is more challenging than it sounds. It's a devil's bargain and one the O'Sheas will struggle with daily. As the season unfolds, we'll discover the O'Sheas backsliding into their old ways. In large and fertile Boston, Olivia was able to run the same con time and time again. In Dodge City, this is out of the question. If she wants to keep her “hobby”, she'll have to adapt or die. And adapt she does. While on a routine and small time job, Olivia stumbles into a void that she will soon fill. Olivia will discover she has a knack for her new found “hobby” and before too long she has unwittingly and organically created her own little criminal organization of soccer moms and NASCAR dads. Flynn will find himself giving in more and more to temptation until he's eventually running a small criminal syndicate himself. Starting with taking a percentage of drug sales from an employee, he'll soon get into the drug trade, protection, black mail, burglary, identify theft, etc. He'll ruffle the feathers of the Dodge City old guard – which will have unforeseen consequences – but Flynn doesn't care. Before too long, he's running the show in Dodge City and all of it under the noses of the US Marshals. Flynn will feel invincible. That is, until the Marshals discover what he's been doing. The O'Sheas are suddenly trapped in a life they never saw coming. They find themselves in a different world, surrounded by unknown people, struggling to create a new and honest living. Which, for this group, is easier said than done. This series will follow them as they navigate these strange waters and adjust to a life unimagined.

The Writer: Kris Simonian

In the past seven years, I have worked with an Emmy award winning writer. In those seven years, I helped to develop both TV series and feature-length films for Showtime, HBO, and various independent producers. Independently, I currently have two projects in development - "1992" is a dramatic feature about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. "Ringside" is a dramatic series about an aging and disrespected boxing promoter who gets an unlikely second shot at greatness. In 2012 I won a silver Telly award for Relentless Development, and in 2011 I won "Best writing" and "Best Dramedy" categories at the LA WebFest for my web series Ghouls.
