Urban Citizen

This story is set in the future in the 23 rd century. In it, I explore the theme through the eyes of the main prinicipal character, how his edealised life of harmony and personal bliss, where all his needs are met, for personal fulfilment. Along with a deep sense of gratitude he has belonging to a spiritually liberated community, which works constantly, to enhance the quality of physical and emotional health and contentment of the wider community. He belongs to a group of people, who act as guardians of the small community's aims and goals. I focus in on his immediate family, which consists of his wife and 2 young adult sons. Especially his sometimes fraught challenging relationship with them. In this future time period, I explore the complex dymamics, he experiences with the other members of his community of guardians, and the at times, struggles they experience inwardly, which even in this enlightened time cause friction between some of them, and himself. However, the prinicipal player in the drama, begins to experience for no particular reason sudden periods of loss of consciousness, where he experiences sensations of falling down a dark tunnel like structure, appearing into another reality. Initially he is unaware of that reality, but he feels totally immersed within the drama, as it unfolds around him. This other reality, is set in the past unfamiliar to him. A period of fear and material hardship. Though he can't quite place, how the past scenes he experiences, actually came about. He experiences morphing into another body, and personality a previous version of himself, which takes over, and superimposes itself over his 23rd century personality. In this environment, he experiences full force for the first time, living a life where he had just been released from prison. Where in his other self, he returns to a run down dilapadated tiny flat. He suffers bullying and intimidation from other residents. Becomes subjected to emotional intimidation by a gang member, employed to collect money to pay for the rent and on behalf of the owners, as well as deal with any issues regarding problems with other residents. The other theme deals with the main character, who encounters a viscuous psychopathic gang, in the street, who humiliate and then murder him. Which results in him being traumatised, and returning from the past version of himself, to the present time, of the 23 rd century. Trying to make sense of the significance of what had happended to him.
