Vinnie

Jun Sun-Woo is a 16 year old Korean-American girl. One evening, she and her friends; Lydia Sommers and Arbury Nicolas gather at her mansion for their usual weekly book club while her parents are out on vacation. After their book club session ends, they head for the cinema room to watch a movie. But everything changes when Jun gets a notification from her local school social media app from an unknown person. The person introduces himself as Vinnie and immediately Jun’s teasing friends assumes he is a secret admirer. But they soon find out that he is not. Vinnie tells them that he is not from their school or any other school much to their confusion. They assume he is a prankster but soon realize that he is not has Vinnie tells them on the movie screen that he is indeed there with them. Jun, Lydia and Arbury freak out. Vinnie appears on the movie screen and tells them that he is trapped and wants to be free. He also tells them that in order for that to happen, one of the girls will have to take his place which the girls refuse. Vinnie becomes angry and lashes out on them, threatening them and scaring them. He locks the door but however, the girls escape the room. When Jun finds her maid dead in the kitchen, she calls 911 but Vinnie answers the call and continues to scare the girls. They try to leave the mansion but Vinnie stops them and locks them in it. Jun and her friends orchestrate a plan to lock Vinnie out for good. They grab make shift weapons and start to smash every screen in the mansion. Vinnie realizing this sends his minions to kidnap of one the girls and stop the others. After back and forth with the girls, Vinnie sends Jun and her friends through the last screen in the mansion. Jun wakes up in a strange world separated from her friends. She searches for them. She finds Arbury. Jun, Arbury and Lydia are reunited in a cavern where Vinnie is waiting for them. After a terrible battle, Arbury and Lydia are unfortunately trapped with Vinnie in his prison as Jun escapes heart-broken. Vinnie tries to follows her but Jun destroys the last screen in the mansion locking Vinnie out. Jun mourns her friends as her parents arrive. In the aftermath, A therapists talks to a grief-stricken Jun about her trauma. Jun looks at the broken TV screen as an image of Vinnie seemingly appears grinning.
