Synopsis/Details
In the chaotic world of modern romance, 'Wedding Run' follows the misadventures of Richie, an African-American high school teacher, who finds himself in a race against time to save his Indian-American girlfriend, Preeti, from an arranged marriage. RICHIE, a mild-mannered African-American high school teacher in New York, is madly in love with his spirited Indian-American girlfriend, PREETI. But their long-distance video calls take a dark turn when Preeti reveals her strict family has arranged her marriage to a wealthy suitor she barely knows. Desperate, Richie seeks help from his tech-savvy Indian student, CHANDU, only to wake up the next day dazed, drugged, and embroiled in a wild plan to “rescue” Preeti from her wedding. With no memory of agreeing to it, Richie is swept into the chaos by Chandu, an eccentric janitor named GREG, and a British teacher, JACOB. Their poorly executed rescue mission leads to a string of botched kidnappings, mistaken identities, and narrow escapes. Instead of saving Preeti, they accidentally abduct her cousins. Richie is humiliated, tased, and eventually beaten by Preeti’s furious UNCLE SHUKLA, before realizing that Preeti herself is missing. As they piece together the night’s events, it’s revealed that this wasn’t Richie’s plan at all it was Preeti’s idea.. or so he thinks. When the crew is finally arrested and released, everything seems lost, until a final twist reveals the deeper truth. It turns out Preeti’s father BHAGAT, secretly supportive of the relationship, orchestrated the entire chaos alongside Chandu’s father, NAGESH. Their goal? To give Preeti the freedom to choose love without openly defying tradition or triggering a family scandal. With everything out in the open, Bhagat stands up to Preeti’s authoritarian uncle in a surprise brawl that clears the way for Richie and Preeti’s future. Wedding Run is a heartwarming romantic comedy filled with cultural clashes, slapstick mayhem, and unexpected alliances. At its core, it’s a story about love, family, and the beautiful mess that happens when you try to rewrite tradition on your own terms, one runaway wedding at a time. ‘Wedding Run’ delivers big laughs, big heart, and one unforgettable wedding day.
