Synopsis/Details
Charlotte Wilder, a college dropout, returns to her hometown of Billings, Montana to reconnect with her old life. However, after discovering how much has changed since she left, she learns that her ex-boyfriend, Nathan Smith, has disappeared. As she helps Jake, a lazy and unpredictable person, and his boyfriend Robert, the complete opposite of Jake, find Nathan. She discovers a secret cult, dedicated to keeping a god-like creature, known only as the "Beast Below", is likely responsible. Their leader: Jed Wilson, a man who's been proclaimed dead for over a century. As the three dig deeper into their theory, they notice strange comeuppances happening all around them, as the cult tells them to leave them be. Refusing to, Jake leads the three into their ultimatum, as Robert is kidnapped by the cult. Will they continue to search for the truth, and risk all three being killed, or leave Robert at the hands of the cult? Jake, desperate to save Robert, winds up getting Charlotte and himself abducted as they attempt to sacrifice Robert. Jed is eventually shot by Officer Balzac, the partner of Officer Wendt, who has a mutual relationship with the three. However, Jed does not die instantly, as he manages to stay alive. Eventually, Charlotte is discovered to have been "chosen" by the Beast to kill Jed, as he is unloyal to the Beast. Charlotte finishes the job, but Jake is killed during the conflict. Robert, now heartbroken, asks Charlotte to use her ability to bring back Jake, as he has been proven capable of. Charlotte is conflicted by the choice, but ultimately decides to do the ritual. She is now the very person she feared, killed, and resurrected...

The Writer: Robert Laas

I have been writing screenplays since I was around 7 years old (2008), mostly in the horror genre. While I have occasionally explored the other genres, most would agree that my horror ones are the best. The thing that makes me different from most horror writers is that I don't often rely on ghosts and goblins to scare the audience, and instead focus on deeper, more psychological fears i.e. death. Around 2018, I began my own company, "New Hope Productions", which solely writes horror, with some variety such as action, romance, and even fantasy at one point. Go to bio
