Synopsis/Details
Jordan Brown, a shy yet witty 19-year-old from Chicago’s South Side, is accepted into the prestigious Wonder Kingdom College Program—a theme park internship sold as magical but packed with reality checks. He trades inner city everyday life for costumed characters, roommates from all walks of life, and late-night park perks. But behind the magic lies sweat, burnout, and a trash bag full of life lessons. Through green-basket dumpster dives, dreamy fireworks, and the pressure to smile through exhaustion, Jordan begins to confront his insecurities, his upbringing, and the dreams that once felt out of reach. A heartfelt coming-of-age short that blends the awkward charm of Abbott Elementary with the raw honesty of a boy with an imagination out of this world, this story celebrates “soft” Black boys, theme park kids, and the complicated path toward self-worth.
