This year, I've read a few screenplays then watched the movie for the first time shortly after.
It's incredible how a good director and production team can improve a story, regardless how grandiose or fanciful you've been with it in your mind's eye as you read.
Last one I read then watched was 'The Social Network'...by far the most fun I've ever had reading a screenplay.
I even printed it and read it old school!
On some sites, you can read the screenwriter's spec - final draft - shooting script. It truly does changes so much.
It's certainly a worthwhile experiment.
Now the question is, when someone asks for the script to a movie you've written, what do you supply? Your original draft, a later draft, the locked script, the production script, the production script with changes you made on the fly?
