I've had a script downloaded and a read request but when I clicked on the person's name to see their profile the link opens to a page that says; Access denied. You are not authorized to access this page. What does this mean? Was my script downloaded by a legitimate member of Script Revolution or has this person had their membership revoked?
That's just the default message when an account has been banned.
Good to know. I may need to disallow downloads unless a read request is sent.
It's up to you. I decided to bypass for one short script because a film has been made, and I hope reading the script helps other writers. For the rest of my scripts, though, you'd have to send a request.
Out of curiosity, what are some reasons a person is banned after becoming a member? Should I be concerned this person downloaded one of my scripts?
It's probably best to talk to CJ. He owns the website. I don't actually work here. I just upload stuff. Bans can happen for all kinds of reasons. Spamming, scams, filling a profile with junk. Anyway, I don't know the specifics. You'll have to ask CJ.
It's always been a rule here that an account have a twenty-five word bio and that often gets ignored. I deem people who do that unprofessional and tend to ban them at the first opportunity (I screen all new accounts). Very rarely, a user's behaviour is just highly unusual. We recently had an individual who was blatantly requested to read as many scripts as possible simply to promote some sort of new filmmaking scheme they were launching. That's not what Script Revolution is here for and hence they got banned.
