Synopsis/Details
Joel Cummings, early 20s, attends his great uncle's funeral in the Hamptons with his parents and learns that he has inherited a vintage opticians' lens kit. He soon discovers that he can use the lenses to see into the future as well as the past and begins a journey outlined for him by his great uncle in a journal accompanying the lens kit. The journal initially sends Joel on a training run to learn how to expertly use the lenses, which includes thwarting a school shooting, busting a child trafficking operation, and solving a hit-and-run death. As Joel becomes more proficient at using the lenses, the journal sends him on increasingly complex missions with higher and higher stakes as the series progresses with the pilot ending in Joel having to solve the kidnapping of his great uncle's private nurse, whom we learn is the sole heir to his great uncle's vast international business holdings and consequently a major target to be kidnapped and held for a ransom.
