Synopsis/Details
MaryAnne is a brilliant but deranged scientist who realizes that every man she dates is imperfect. Because of her skills as a genetic engineer, she decides to kill all the imperfect men she meets and then genetically combine her favorite attributes of each into one perfect man. It is essentially a modern-day Frankenstein tale with a female empowerment twist. The tone may be described as Dexter meets Sex and the City. Throughout the script, we see numerous murders as MaryAnne dates random men and finds various and bizarre ways to kill them and harvest their body parts. These kills range from horrifically grotesque to downright comedic. Throughout, we see random flashbacks that have led to MaryAnne’s mental instability, and her choices in life. These flashbacks include a horrific sexual assault, as well as an unhealthy home life. While MaryAnne continues to hunt for her newest victims, two police detectives –Jack and Andi –begin investigating the gruesome murders, and they start to notice a pattern. The film follows both MaryAnne’s exploits and the two detectives who are desperate to stop her. Meanwhile, MaryAnne’s sister Michelle leads an idyllic suburban life, which routinely interferes with MaryAnne’s extracurricular activities in strange and comedic ways. Throughout the film, we witness MaryAnne’s progress in engineering her ideal man, leading to a climax that will surprise everyone – including her!
