Synopsis/Details
Being a relatively undistinguishing cop, being a divorced single mother and having recently come out as LGBT, WPC Shirley is facing her multiple conflicts as she enters her forties. On a drunken night out, she makes the shocking discoveries that not only was Sherlock Holmes a real, historical character, who through an affair that has remained secret for 90 years, was the father of Shirley's grandmother, but also whose spirit from beyond the grave now guides Shirley as her career takes off and she moves from the beat into plain clothes. Already struggling to make headway on one of the Met's coldest cases, a new disturbing mystery provides the ultimate test of Shirley's newfound investigative powers, even with her ancestor's help. Can Shirley solve either mystery in a way befitting the Holmes bloodline?
