Synopsis/Details
Children frolic across an Amish homestead on a hot summer day. Something catches their attention. They stop and stare, transfixed. Noah (40s) sees the kids across the field. He walks over to find a severely mutilated cow carcass cleaved cleanly down the middle.
Christy (30s) takes a pregnancy test. Negative. She’s disappointed but unsurprised. To quit smoking before she becomes pregnant, Christy meets with a hypnotherapist. Charles (60s) is a kind, lonely man with a big fluffy cat. He puts Christy into her first hypnotic trance.
Christy attends court to witness the sentencing of an Amish man who killed her mother. She visits her mother’s grave with her husband and sister. Noah comes to Christy’s home and gives her a handcrafted birdhouse as a symbol of healing between their communities.
That night, Christy is abducted by aliens. She is subjected to a series of enigmatic surgical procedures. She remembers nothing the next morning but soon has traumatic flashbacks.
She does another pregnancy test. Positive. Three months later, Christy has a “missing time” experience and seeks medical attention. When she visits the OBGYN, an ultrasound shows no sign of a fetus. This is her third supposed miscarriage.
Christy asks Charles to place her under hypnosis to recover memories of her missing time. She recalls a horrific experience in which a bizarre-looking fetus is forcibly removed from her body. Christy is soon visited by a “Man in Black” who has an unsettling appearance and bizarre mannerisms. He warns Christy to stop seeing Charles.
Christy confesses her abduction experiences to her boss, sister and husband. Nobody believes her. When she finds the Man in Black has been in her house, she barricades herself in the nursery with a shotgun. Once again, the aliens come. She fights, but it’s futile. They take her.
She wakes up the next morning to a knock at the door. Through the frosted glass, she can see the silhouette of what appears to be the Man in Black. She fires the shotgun through the window. When she opens the door, she finds Noah bleeding out on the ground.
Months later, people stare at Brian at the grocery store. On a magazine rack, there’s a tabloid with Christy’s photo with the caption “Amish Revenge Killer: Aliens Stole My Baby.”
Christy, now in a mental hospital, is visited one last time. Aboard the craft, she is handed a small, grotesque bundle with gray skin and bulging eyes. She smiles down at her baby.
